Dr. Mohamed El Guindy, President of LCST Academy, Senior Cybercrime Expert at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Advisor to the Public Prosecution Office, participated in a national training workshop organized by the Public Prosecution, in cooperation with UNODC and the Institute of Criminal Research and Training.The workshop was held from 16 to 18 December, in line with the directives of H.E. Counselor Mohamed Shawky, Prosecutor General, as part of activating the Public Prosecution Training Strategy (2025–2030). The initiative focuses on developing the skills of Public Prosecution members and strengthening local, regional, and international cooperation.This training workshop comes within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the Public Prosecution and UNODC to address the misuse of the internet, emerging technologies, and online communication platforms for terrorist purposes, and to enhance institutional readiness in dealing with modern and complex cyber-enabled crimes.The workshop covered a range of specialized topics, including:<ul><li>How terrorist groups use the internet for propaganda, influence, and recruitment</li><li>Protection and recovery of criminal data in online terrorism investigations</li><li>Challenges related to collecting, preserving, and presenting digital evidence</li><li>Relevant national legislation and international and regional legal instruments</li><li>Cooperation with service providers and public-private partnerships</li><li>The role of artificial intelligence and deepfake technologies, balancing innovation with legal safeguards</li><li>Review of practical cases and real-world scenarios</li></ul>Dr. Mohamed El Guindy’s participation reflects LCST Academy’s continued commitment to supporting national efforts in cybersecurity, cybercrime prevention, and counter-terrorism capacity building, while promoting knowledge exchange and international best practices in the digital age.
