London Cyber Science and Technology Academy (LCST) is pleased to announce the participation of our President, Dr. Mohamed El Guindy, member of the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) Committee for Computing and Informatics (2025–2028), in a high-level workshop organized by the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt. The workshop, titled “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education,” took place at the SCU headquarters as part of a collaborative project with the Fulbright Commission aimed at strengthening the SCU’s capabilities to align with future trends in higher education.The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the SCU, and supervised by Professor Dr. Mona Hagrass, Assistant Secretary-General. The workshop was led by Professor Dr. Omar Salem, Director of the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center, with the participation of members of the SCU Computing Sector Committee, Chief Information Officers from universities representing Egypt’s seven regions, Professor Dr. Karim Ammara, Deputy Director of the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center, along with several unit directors.A keynote presentation was delivered by Professor Dr. Alison Garrett from the Fulbright Commission, focusing on how digital transformation enhances both academic and administrative efficiency across higher education institutions. She emphasized that successful digital transformation requires not only advanced technological infrastructure but also a strong culture of change, supported by sustainable investments and robust cybersecurity measures.The workshop further explored mechanisms for fostering an effective digital culture within universities, highlighting continuous training, incentive-driven engagement, and the integration of data analytics to support decision-making. Participants reviewed key indicators for measuring digital impact, including improved operational efficiency, error reduction, and enhanced user experience.In addition, the discussions addressed the expanding role of artificial intelligence in higher education—particularly its potential to improve learning outcomes through data-driven insights—while also examining the challenges related to ethical use, governance, and technical readiness.The workshop concluded by reaffirming that digital transformation and AI applications represent essential pillars for achieving more flexible, inclusive, and future-ready education systems. Participants stressed the importance of aligning international best practices with Egypt’s institutional realities and establishing supportive policies that ensure the sustainability of digital development efforts.LCST Academy commends the SCU’s ongoing commitment to shaping the future of higher education and is proud of President Dr. Mohamed El Guindy’s contributions to this national effort.
